Requesting feedback: Has anyone else had problems with fuel filter/line? My check engine light came on, my husband used the code machine, and decided to change the fuel filter. Got a new filter at a discount store using their book, brought new filter home, wrong one. Returned it and went to auto part store for filter. Couldn't get old filter off. Friend came over with special tool, could only get it part-way off. Put it back together and brought it to Ford dealer. They got old one off, new one from auto part store not correct, had to order Ford fuel filter, put old one back on and sent me home until new part arrived. Drove fine, no leak or puddle in driveway. Got to work next day and discovered puddle under car, upon starting it the gas flowed out! Called AAA and had it towed to dealer, but repair dept closing and too late to fix. Next day get phone call. Needs new fuel line, from front of vehicle to back, only comes in kit. Had to order the kit and am still waiting 2 days later. They told us the bill will come to $750 when we pick it up! Not under warranty. Do we have to go along with this ridiculous charge?
