I just replaced my transmission and its not catching any gear and when I give it gas it stalls and shuts off but it turns back on any help

Did you replace with a rebuilt unit or a wrecking yard swap? Can you get any gear at all I would start by checking the Range sensor and make sure you the selector is moving on the trans when you select a gear.

I replaced it with a rebuild one from ford, the gears do go in but when I hit the gas it just revs up and it doesn't move

Okay just to be sure you did make sure you got torque convertor bolted back up properly ? Also did you get a warranty for the rebuilt unit? So you select D and you can actually feel the engagement into D correct then you give it gas and no go just revs.. HMMM I would suspect that if you can feel the engagement then you have some issues here sounds like could be a VB issue but hard to tell because you can feel the engagement but no movement. Got to be pressure getting there to engage but maybe not enough pressure to hold engagement? Did you have to adjust the bands also what about reverse does it rev only in reverse also?
