I saw a thread a while back where some guy cut into his coolant recovery tank or something to fit in an extra battery. I'd like to put one in but in a slightly more convenient spot. My 98 doesn't have much free space under the hood. Any ideas or pictures of where you guys put one?

thanks

Search for the user " JEFE " he has two batteries under a hood similar to yours.........

thanks

Just a random thought...I once had a Chev 3/4T conversion van w/6.? deisel engine. That van had two batteries and one of them was under the rear floor. It hung in a battery tray under the veh. and accessed from the underside.
I dont know if there is enough room on an X but I thought I would pass it on.

thanks again

Someone placed two batteries in the stock location. He built a new tray to hold two side by side, turned 90 degrees from the original orientation. It looked tight in the pictures. Good luck,

yea i think i saw that one...its does look awsome. I can also practice my novice welding skills :)

There is a lot of room around the battery, but it doesn't look like they'd fit, at a glance.

We have used Stinger batteries when space is a problem. Expensive but we have had great luck with them just using them for emergency self jumping. They seem to go a long time before they need charging.
