F-150 Projector Headlights

well I bought them for a smoking deal through a group purchase we had. Then I fell in love with a lift kit, LOL. But if I get the lift kit gotta get new wheels/tires and gears too... so we'll see...

ya.. well, with the angle you have there, the dead on, I tried that on my concept picture. didn't line up. the differences are a lot clearer with that particualr pic. the curves of the explorer lense are more.. rouneded more than the triangular shape of the other lense. One could probablly modify the grlle to fit them.. like bondo.. along with painting the grille paint color. But I'm not doing that to my stock grille (now if I can find a cheap X grille, paint it white, modify it so that this fits and get as billet I'd be ok.. maybe when I get a job I will activley persure this)

Hey Guys a photoshop pic doesnt tell you the whole story. Matt is right about the early F-150, they were produced actually in June 1996 as a 97 model. Pasting pics is not going to tell you the true story, if they are going to work or not or even how much modications you may have to do. Nothing like going through the actual process.

quite honestly, I would LOVE to see it happen for someone to figure out how to modify it, I think it would be more a company that specializes in fiberglass or something that could make a replacement grill. Maybe someone oughtta contact Perry's fab n fiber and see if they could make up some grills that are basically the same size and dimensions and everything, but with different holes for the lights.

What bulb number are the HID for? Why didn't you get HID's that would fit your Projo's That would be the best thing to do! It uses the 9005 & 9006 for the F-150's projo's that you have right? You could just use the HID's for the driving light and regular bulb for the Hi-Beam or vise-versa.

photoshopping is a lot cheaper and less risky on damaging parts than going out and actually doing it. however once I get a job, I feel the prices of these parts are cheap enough from a junk yard that I could try it.

Black Magic, were not talking HID bulbs, were talking HID SYSTEM, with all new lenses specifically designed for HID, etc. It's the kit made by Sylvania. I wouldn't trust just a replacement HID bulb, especially not in the APC projector with its plastic lens.

Oh, I see. I was thinking of a HID system like mine that is the bulb, balist and wiring. I didn't know you had the Sylvaia system. Does that still have high and low beam?

the sylvania xenarc systme, yea I looked at that, suprise! not made for the explorer! :P

Did any one listen to me?

I said!!! What about toyota Tundra lights????? There pretty close in size to the 150 lights and i think they have a better curve too!!! Look!Tundra headlight

Tundra lights would definately not work. Look at the angle of the bulbs. Mounted in an Explorer, the light would shine like at a 45 degree angle.

well the curve is more suited.. but the lense itself looks too tall, and the turn signal area is curved. I juts caled my junk yard.. no X grilles no F-150 headligts.. make me wonder what they DO have.. cos they neve rhave the parts I want.

$30 eh? not bad, thanks for the info, uh, all I need now is an X grille and uh.... mountaineer corners.. and I could play with it..
