Factory Amp and aftermarket stereo issue

Just to let you know! Crutchfield has a wiring harnest that bypasses the factory amp for around $11.95. The hardest part is removing the panel. If you can find a small enough amp, you could install it where the factory one goes. I am wanting a 5 channel to run all speakers and my sub. I am using my factory amp 'cause its louder than the head unit output, but also has more noise at low volumes. It's a trade-off I guess!

I am planning to attempt to remove my rear washer reservoir and place an amp there. Only if I can get the rear wiper motor to work off of the front reservior! I use the rear of my truck WAY too much to put an amp back there. Hey, outta sight outa mind right! If it works I'll be able to access the amp VIA the jack access door. Well, sounds good in theory! Its just a matter of findng an amp with the right demensions!

To any avail...it's a never ending saga! Good luck CHINSK!

YOU CAN TURN THE BEEPING OFF?
OMG I Thought i had to live with it. If you can dig up the instructions to do it I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

The manual is at my parent's house, and I am not sure when I will be up there next, but yea, ill grab em...I dont remember what the sequence is, but you hold a coulple buttons down, and it gets rid of that beep, and the one when you change the radio station or volume.

Not for nothing guys but that beeping is supposed to remind you to take the faceplate off before you leave the vehicle so it doesnt get stolen. An easy way to have your radio not beep is to actually take the faceplate off and not take the chance that it wont get stolen.

The factory ground would only be suitable for a very small amp, and even then I'd just run a new one. You want your groung to be a short as possible, and who knows where the factory one goes.

Yeah I agree, the only thing I will most likely use on the factory harness is the remote. The rest of em are like 18 guage cables which are not suitable in my opinion. I am kinda disappointed tho that I lost a lot of the bass, and I snipped all the wires so putting the factory harness back on to run off the factory amp for the time being is going to be a pain in the ass.

OK I think I figured out what i want to do. Tell me what you guys think.

On the amp side I want to go with a Sony XM-404EQX 4 Channel Amplifier

And for a sub, I don't want anything big and boomy (I want something I can enjoy not the folks 2 miles down the road) so I think I want to get the Infinity BassLink

What you guys think? Any experience with these products, BTW I am trying to keep this relatively cheap.

Do you know if this is the right bypass wiring harness?

Harness

I just yanked the factory amp, and wired the speakers directly to the HU. It sounds much better. I put a sub amp where the factory amp was.

i just bought mine a few days ago and it looks like the one on the left.
