My factory CD player gets confused as to which slots have CD's in them and which don't and when it does that it shuts down and says "CD ERROR". I can usually fix that but this time it has taken a dumped for good. Bad news is I have 2 of my favortie CD's in there. How do I get them out?? I tried disconnecting the battery to hopefully reset the system but that didn't help...

I am having this exact same problem. i took the head unit out of the console and maybe try to get my cd's outta there, but no avail. I am really not trying to take the damn thing apart, so does anybody have any pointers?

I have a similar problem, the thing is that when i try to get the cd out, is gets stucked and shows the cd error message, the only way i got it to work is by "helping" the cd that is trying to get out with another cd or a credit card... i did it twice and the problem stopped, i really hope i does not happen again...

How did you "fix" the CD error thing the first time? I have a used Ranger that started doing this and the previous owner knows nothing about it.
