factory head unit problem

ive got a 95 limited with the jbl system with the six cd changer and bass
unit at the back. recently i am heaving radio reception going in and out on any fm and am channel and now the volume is fluctuating also.

anybody had this problem? is there a factory amplifier somewhere that
needs to be serviced? I had my alternator and battery checked just to make sure, its not a power problem.

any suggestions will be appreciated.

factory amp is just in front of the passenger side rear wheel well behind the panel

The HU's have internal amps, besides what is in the sub area. Find out what it takes to install the later Mach radio("RDS" button), assuming your rear wiring is close enough to upgrade. They have display issues, but they are as good as any aftermarket HU, plus thieves don't want them. Good luck,
