Factory HU CD player skips ALOT..any help?

I can put a cd in and it plays fine. Other times I put one in and it skips like crazy or skips even over extremely small bumps. Most of the time I can take the CD out, put the same CD back in and it plays fine... any idea what it could be (other than the fact that its a crappy factory HU).

the reading laser head may be dirty..... get one of those cleaning cd kits for the drive system
