CD Player Skipping

I have a JVC KD-S680 Head Unit tha came w/ the car, and everytime I hit a bump the CD Player skips. At first I ignored the problem, but now I can't stand it!!!:frustrate I noticed that the mounting kit where the head unit is kind of loose. I don't know if it is the actual head unit or if it is the mounting kit. Is there anyway to fix this or should I just get a new HU!? Please Help!

Take the player out and see if everything is mounted properly. It could have been 'rigged' in there by the previous owner and just needs to be installed better.

dont want to say this is your problem but its most likely just the cd player brand. i just removed my jvc kamelion that was 2 years old from my X cause all it did was skip when i hit bumps....it never had the problem before.....i dont think they have very good anti-skip mechanisms....if the cd player is old you should get into the market for a new one......i bought a Blaupunkt MP3000 and im very happy with it
