Hello all:
I have a 1991 Eddie Bauer, and while I had the rear side panels off for some audio installation, I noticed an electrical box on the drivers side. It has some sort of a heat sink on the bottom of it, and a red LED light. What is this? Is it possibly for factory keyless entry? The truck didn't come with any remotes when I bought it back in April. Was keyless an option for 91? If it was, where can I get a remote for it? Ford dealer or anywhere cheaper? Thanks in advance.

it's not keyless entry, i'm not sure what your seeing but factory keyless was not available until 95 or 96 i think, any ways in 1991 there were "ford" labeled keyless remote systems but they were developed by code-alarm and installed at the dealer level as a dealer option, if you had this, then there would be a black box under the dash appx 1.5x4x6 in size. additionally if you do have this just replace it because that era remote system did'nt have universal programable remotes, they were married together at code-alarm and unless you have the original rf setting sticker they can't be replaced easliy/inexpensively, cheaper to just replace the whole system. good luck

:D
