factory pillar posts 03 eddie bauer

I bought my 02 new and I would clay/polish/wax my truck often and my pillers looked bad after two years. The rest of the car was fine. Ford denied warranty to repaint them stating I must have caused the damage. Even after I walked to their used lot and showed them 3 explorer/mountys with the same problem. This is another reason I will not by a ford product again.

you should have tried a different dealer, my 2002 had peeling paint about a year ago. I took mine in and they replaced all 6 of them under warranty. They also fixed both my rear head rests that were broken. I did get turned down at the first dealer, saying it was normal.

This is one reason I am so bitter about ford. I went to the dealer and they said they would have to get the regional ford rep to authorize the work and he said it was my fault. So the next step I wrote, multiple letters to ford customer service and included link to this forum back in 05, which talk about the pillars, and some having success with having ford fix the issue. I was flat out told no and treated with no respect stating again my fault. And also told that if I went to another dealership the same regional rep would not authorize the repair. Guess they don’t want repeat customers anymore, as this was my forth purchase and never before this Explorer had to argue to get things fixed.

I also had too many repairs on this Explorer. Other than paint I had. Tyranny issues. Loud rear end. Rear end seal leaks and broken blend door. And I have 62K on the odometer.
Sorry for venting so long.

I check the board often to learn and try to help other out .
