Hello all,We bought the explorer a 99 XLT 4.0 SOHC 4*4 and lovin it but the problem we are having is with the factory remote lock/unlock when we got it the drivers side front door did not lock or unlock it looked like it was attempting to but moving very little had to be locked/unlocked manually and now the passenger side front door is doing it now intermitingly and from what ive been told this is something very common in this vehicle but also may have an easy fix (hopefully) if not i have someone that is going to to do the work either way, I am just looking for some help because I was directed here so that I would get the right advice/directions and of course would be very appreciative and will give back in any way i can be helpfull and also get hepfull info , so if anyone can and is willing to help me remedy the problem that would be great. You can email me at tlalond@yahoo.com which would get the info to the one who would be doing the fixing.I am so glad i was shown this site ive heard very good things, got my fingers crossed

This has happened to me twice. And both times, it was a warning that my battery was ready to die. Get your battery checked.

Are you saying the battery, the main battery is going bad or are you talking about the remotes for the locks baterries are going to die?

I mean the main battery. Within a week of my remote locks starting to act up, I began to get weak starts... the battery was having a hard time turning the engine over.

For sure, it might have been a coincidence. But it did happen twice.
