I live on the coast and the sun damage gets really bad. Is there a way to remove the front two wiper arms and the black vinyl vent piece. I'd like to take them off and paint them black again. Right now they are gray. Any help would be appreciated.

Sure do a search for wiper cowls, I think Aldive has a thread about it

Welcome to the forum!

On th wiper arms theres a place to put a screw driver and release the gadget that holds it on. Grab the base of the wiper and work it off. It's mounted on a spline(a shaft with groovs).

The vent you are talking about are called cowl pannels heald in with clips.

1 remove the wiper arms

2 remove the screws on the left and right of the cowl pannels

3 The plastic washer nozels are extreemly fragile. carfully disconnect the hoses.

4 pry the clips loose on the pannels.

I did this on my explorer last summer. It is easy to do, and it made the truck look so much better. I would recommend doing a good surface preparation so that the finished products look good and will last a long time.

Thanks guys for the info. I've wanted to paint it for a while and just didn't want to mess anything up.
