I was at Lowe's the other day and i happened to walk by the paint section and i saw a can of rust-oleum that was made for the bumpers and side rails. What you guys think?

I think that looks good. Im looking to paint my trim as well due to the fading and i wasnt sure what to use. This looks like it would work well. Ive tried the back to black stuff but it just doesnt last.

The steps on my sport trac Is faded aswell, I just spray them with tire shine every time I use it on my tires (weekly) and it makes it look like new!!

Tire shine? HaHa I'll have to try that!! :D

Thats what I do as well. Tire shine

you should refinish your running boards with some truck bed liner like i did. hit me up if you ever need any tips on fixing that fading! take a look at mine:

that looks real good....wat spray did u use? and wat do u use to hit the trim around the tires and the bumpers

08 xlt..black clearcoat

No sure how I feel about the tire shine. Would make 'em slippery...

Not at all, it's the same as without

do a search on the forum on how to remove the trim from your particular year/style X. then you can use this link as a guideline on painting them. if you search yourself, you will find tons of writeups on how to refinish the trim. i did mine for under 40 bucks and it makes a world of difference. good luck.

Krylon Fusion is another paint that is made for plastic. I did the flares on my daughter's Jeep and the step bar endcaps on my Trac with it. Can't tell it from new.
