- 2020 Explorer XLT 4wd
I think almost every vehicle manufacturer has used this by now, its extremely common. Our 2013 Fusion had it, engine sounded like a growling V8 inside, but a typical turbo 4 outside. I also believe our 2020 explorer xlt does it, there is no way a 4 banger sounds like that. Also when you floor it, in any mode but more in sport, the rear fan turns up, giving a whooshing sound as you accelerateFunny thing is, unless I'd read the comments here, I'd never think fake engine sound would be something car makers would seriously consider putting in their vehicles! Makes me think I'm reading "The Onion"!!! I'd rather hear the radio, and the REAL engine sounds just to check up on whether they've changed or everything still OK. It really is funny!
