Fan only goes high and low

My most recent problem to my good old '92 is that the fan seems to only work on high and low, or off. Basically, when I turn the nob that controls the speed, the first 4 options do nothing and the last option (high) works fine. Has anyone ever come across this problem? (I have a feeling the answer is yes). Please let me know your thoughts...thanks!

I'll have to keep an eye on this thread, I have a 92 Suzuki swift and the fan only works on high..

It sounds like it might be the blower motor resistor (visible from under the hood in the side of the A/C evaporator housing).

It sounds like it might be the blower motor resistor (visible from under the hood in the side of the A/C evaporator housing).

Definatly is, look to the left of the a/c accumulator under the hood, or right below the blower motor in the passenger's side rear of the engine bay. It has two attaching screws on either side, with 5/16th's or 8mm heads. It has a connector with about 5-8 wires on it and looks as if it plugs into the black box.

They are usually about $8-10 at Autozone so it's not that bad of a job.
