Fan only works on 3 and 4 speeds

Not to make a double thread, but am assuming this is a similar problem to the other recent thread. The resistor is probably bad?? Where is the best place to buy one? Thanks, Ed
 






You are correct it's the resistor. Your local autoparts store is the fastest online may be cheaper but not by much. Look at the other thread for a link to replacement instructions.
 






$20 part at Advance Auto. They had it in stock, picked it up last night, and it was a 30 min repair today. Remove one screw and the 4x4 module moves out of the way. I couldn't tell how the connector worked, so I just removed the resistor and connector together, so I could get a better look, and it was a little thingy you push in in the middle of the connector to disconnect it. All 4 fan speeds work now:-))) Probably saved at least $200 at the dealer. Ironically, we just moved into a hot and humid climate, which I'm thinking had some affect on the resistor.
 






The resistor is a very common part to go bad on random and at any time. Mine happened to go bad after two years of having the car.
