This is based on a Mountaineer, but the pictures are crisp, and easy to look at for amp placement, and power wire running. Worth a look. Unfortunately, the page loads a little slowly.

Any of you that have been visiting my Mountaineer audio install page may be
interested to know that I've posted some new pics of the final install.
Everything is now 100% hooked up and thumping along nicely. I've recently
posted a few new pics that show the final wiring into the Ford amp (with a
nice wire color table for those of you who want to try this at home), pics
on how to wire up your remote turn on for the amp, how to remove the factory
head unit, and a pic of the PAC OEM-1 audio converter that I used to convert
the Ford head unit's output to something an amp could deal with (RCA). The
following is a list of the equipment I installed for those of you that
haven't yet seen my site.
