Should I put some FatMat (generic Dynamat) behind my door speakers? I've seen pics of the area behind the speakers closed in and I've seen pictures with the hole cut out and nothing behind the speaker.

Should I close the speakers in with the FatMat to help keep the sound in or do they need the airspace inside the door to play properly?

I've never seen anyone leave it sealed before? I say leave a hole there for airspace, otherwise it'll be gasping for air and the speaker/output would just be restricted.

The purpose of the mad is to reflect sound and dampen vibrations. It would be ideal to cover the interior of the door with the mat, and cut as small a hole as necessecary for the speaker, wires, and anything else that needs to pass through.

How much airspace does a 6x8" speaker need putting out 50w RMS and 100w max?

The rear speakers would be easy to enclose because there's already metal behind them. Is it worth the trouble to make something to enclose the front speakers?

The front speakers are vented because there is not enough airspace in there to start with but the back ones are sealed because there is already enough airspace back there. In other words fatmat everything on the back doors and fatmat everything on the front doors except behind the speaker pod. Hope this helps
