So I noticed the drivers side headlight was out. Went home yesterday to change it. I still had the factory headlights out of the Mach so I tried to use them. Made the swap, turned on the headlights...nothing. Switched to brights and it came on, went back to low beams and it went off. I pulled the bulb again and tested the plug for power, under low beam conditions there is NO power to the plug, when I kick the high beams on, I get power on the high side. For a comparison I pulled the passenger side light and tested the plug on that one. Under low beams it has power to one pin, with high beams on it has power to two pins.

I checked the fuses in the dash, neither were blown and both show power on both sides of the fuse.

I am now stumped.

I pulled out the Haynes manual and looked at the wiring, seems pretty simple. I am getting power at the fuse in the dash but somewhere down the line it is loosing it. In the schematic there is a DRL module, but it is not equipped with DRL. It is an EB so it has auto on and off headlights but I don't think that uses the same module as the DRL. The odd part is it looks like the left headlight low input feeds from the right headlight hi input??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its your LOM module.... people have reported that there are some circuit contacts that "break".... they have fixed them with success.

What is a LOM module?

LOM = Light Out Module.

I did some searching and seems that that may be the culprit. I guess I will pull the message center tonight and see what happens.

hoppy - from what I have found if you don't have the center console message center you do not have the LOM either. Not sure if you do or don't but if you don't didn't want you scouring your interior looking for it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction budwich :notworthy

Ok thanks. I thought it was some kind of relay centre and have not heard of it before. My truck is an XLS, but have added the autolamps mirror and overhead console. Those are the only mods that I have done because the truck already has air and cruise.

Hi: I just had the exact same problem on my 95 Limited, and after changing bulbs/ fused, I discovered that 1 wire (blue/ low beam) on the bulb socket was loose, and not making proper contact. I pushed it in and applied a fast drying glue to hold it in place, and low and behold, I have fully functioning lights!

I hope that helps, as it was a real pain in the butt, until discovered.
