1997 Ford Explorer
Purchased a 1997 V8 Ford Explorer awhile back. Just started fooling with it recently.. Will be my dd after a few things: 1. Front two windows will not roll up or down, I can hear the window motors working. Is there a simple fix to get them back on track? 2. The dashlightsdo not work. It isnt the fuse. 3. Have 06 explorer rims with wheel spacrs and 33's, what issues could the spacers cause aside from broke lugs, also ways to prevent that. 4. Cant find my body lift bolts. Anyone happen to know the length and width of those bolts? Sorry for the long post. Trying to kill as many birds with one stone as possible. Thanks in advance.

Windows:
the windows have a habit of pulling out of the two little clips that hold them to the window regulator. as you can hear the motors running, i suspect this is what has happened. Ford's design for retaining the glass is weak. there are just 2 one inch u-clips that the glass is attached/glued to. with age and lack of lubrication in the window channels it is common for the glass to pull out. i've repaired mine with some 3M yellow weather stripping adhesive and silicon spray in the channels. remove the interior door panel and weather shield to gain access. clean the glass and u-clips as best you can before applying new glue. set the window on the clips. put the window all the way up and let it sit for 24 hours before using. the first time you put the glass down have someone help it with their hands, then spray plenty of silicon spray into the window channels and repeat once or twice a year and you should be good.

Note: sometimes you find the glass has also come out of the channel. if this is the case you'll have to get it back in before re-gluing it.

Dash Lights:
your dash lights not working is likely a bad light switch/dimmer rheostat. sometimes you can remove the switch, take it apart and fix it, or you may need to replace it.
