Does your 98 have a cylindrical airbox with a conical filter housed just behind the passenger side headlight? If so, the same model filter that works for the 97 should be fine. If you are looking to save money you may want to do what I did.

I removed my airbox and made a do-it-yourself version of the $90 Filtercharger. It takes no skill and costs about $2.50 plus $40 for the filter. If you are like me, $40 is not something I can afford to spend when I can do it myself. It takes about 10 minutes and the step by step instructions are here:

I hope to get some pics this afternoon.

It should also work if you have a rectangular air box since that is what my '97 had before I put the K&N FIPK in it. Then again, my '97 has the SOHC V6 rather than the OHV.

umm I have the square airbox. hmmm and this 90 dollar Filter charger kit where can I get it? The only filter charger kit I have been able to find costs $230!!!!!!!!!

dude, do what i did, i have the K&N filter drop-in and this is whats left of my airbox:

it basically does the same thing, but a lot cheaper!!

how long did that take you to do?

10 minutes with a Dremel using the multipurpose cutting bit. Its really loud when you cut it!
