Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally have a functional auxiliary input in my 06 with navigation. Dominic and his guys at ARC in MA were able to re-program my navigation system with the software from the 08 so now it has a "line in" tab on the screen. Then I took the pinout from an 08 and compared it to the pinout of my 06 and discovered that the 4 wires (aux in R +, R -, L +, & L -) were missing from the 06 harness so I added these pins in the correct locations to the plug, spliced the two -'s together and wired these and the +'s into a 3.5mm female plug. Then I mounted this into the stock location (for the 07+ that is) and everything works great. Granted this cost a little more than the Peripheral unit did but when you consider that it didn't work...AT ALL....I figure I came out ok. If anyone needs help with any of this feel free to give me a shout. Oh and BTW, I highly suggest dealing with Dominic and ARC.....he was one of the most knowledgeable and friendliest people I have ever dealt with and was the only person who knew exactly what I wanted to do and how to do it. Definitely give him a call for any FLM navigation issues.

i would love to see some pics of this install!

You know to be honest with you there isn't much to show other than the jack itself. I will take a picture of that and try to post it though. What I did is add pins to the factory harness to basically make it just like a 2008. The only difference though is instead of those wires being part of the main harness they are seperate. I then took these four wires (actually three because I splice the two grounds together right after the harness) and ran them to the center console where I located the jack. I also covered everything in wire loom and secured that loom along the way so if you took everything apart it would actually look quite stock. I'm quite proud of the way everything went together and I'll take some pics and post if I can. I also have part numbers, wire sizes, schematics.....pretty much everything you need for the install and will be happy to walk anyone that wants to try it through the procedure.

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking to do. I have an 06 w/ nav also. Approx what did that run you to complete the job?

It was $100 for the re-programming and then another 25-30 bucks shipping both ways. The jack I used was only $3 and then $1 or 2 for wire, solder, etc. All in all it wasn't too bad especially considering everything works great and looks stock. By the way, here's a link to the jack I used. It mounts from the front so it looks a lot better than the console jacks most are used to.

Let me know if I can help any other way. Like I said, I fought this for months before finally coming up with a solution so I'm very sympathetic to others in the same situation.

Compared to some of the other options that I have seen out there, that doesn't sound bad at all! I may have to take you up on some tips on getting this done. How did you find the guy to re-program the radio?
