I have a '91 Explorer Sport and I have been looking for a Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK), but haven't been able to find one. I only find them for the newer SOHC motors, not for the OHV like mine has. If anyone knows of a place that sells FIPKs or better intakes for older Ex's, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

k&n doent make one that is 50 state legal for us.... however some people on here have fabricated their own or got a KKM that issnt smog legal... the only time youll need to worry is at smog time and then just swap in the original if you go with a kkm

Fipk

From what I know they dont make them for older model explorers. I used to have a '92 4.0L and I looked forever online and at car shows and never found one. Everyone I asked told me that you have to make a custom if you want one that bad. I wasn't planning on keeping the car that long so i just bout the plain K&N airfilter that goes in the airbox.

Thanks for the info. I may just look into the KKM one, since they don't do the smog tests here in NY where I live. I might be getting a '95 Explorer in a few months, so I'm going to wait to see what is going to happen with that before I put a new intake on the '91.
