1994 Ford Explorer XLT
Hey Everybody! I am new to the Explorer forum and was wondering if anybody could help me out, I have a 1994 Ford Explorer XLT with a naked roof, no cross bars or anything. I am looking to install a roof rack but without the bars it makes it very difficult, anybody have suggestions or ideas they have done? Thank you!

Well nuts for the new holes you drill for the used factory rails. These expand and seal, as you tighten the bolts/screws.

Measure the stock holes after you remove the rails off a donor. Buy new well nuts made for that size hole.

Make steel tube crossbars with bolt flanges, for more cargo weight. Factory bars are maxed out at 100 lbs. The more cross bars you use, the better the load is dispersed.

There are some custom baskets and racks made on members rides here. Use the search feature, and your sure to find some.
