'91 XL
Hello all!

Obviously, I'm new to this site, but I'm also new to Explorers. I recently purchased a '91 XL from someone I used to work with. From what I can tell(I've only got a 5 digit odometer) it's got around 250000 miles on it. I recently had $1500 of work done to it so it will pass inspection(wheel joints, ball joints, tires, other small stuff). I also just did some body work - removed a bit of rust(ok a LOT of rust) from the rocker panels, particularly the driver side, and covered it all up with some sheet metal(here's to hoping it will pass like this). :D

I have a quick question for you big hoovie. What exactly does your odometer read? how many ZEROS are thare before it goes in to larger numbers? Im only asking because I have recntly bought a 91 Explorer That I was told had about 200,000 on it and my odometer reads 00147 9-(white). all of the other explorers I have seen with 200,000 plus thousand, only have one zero in the first digits so I suspect I have 300,000 instead of 200,000 I was told.
This has notthing to do with your explorer I just seen that yours had 200,000 plus & would like to know haow many zeros yours has in front.

Thanks Tom

tom91... your explorer has 200,147 miles.

your two is chopped off.

yours will also only have one zero once you hit 201,000.

I have no leading zeros on my odometer(reading:
59274[3](or so)) The reason I believe my X to have
259000 or so miles on it, is the title showed 179000
when , and the odometer showed about 58000 leading me
to this conclusion.

If your odometer has 2 leading zeros on it, I would
say that it recently rolled over, but without seeing
the title, knowing how long it was owned before you
got it, etc, I can only speculate that while it is
possible for it to be 300K, it's more likely to be
200K, but I wouldn't put any guarantees on it either.
