First-time Explorer owner saying, hello. (Updated w/pics)

Hey guys, I just traded my '06 BMW 330i for an '08 EB Explorer. Living where I do, a 4x4 is almost necessary in the winter and I needed room for the kids in our secondary vehicle as well. I am looking forward to everyone's helpful tips and sharing some of my own when I can. My car will be here Friday so I'll post up some pics when it arrives.

Here is the car I traded:

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Explorer, but maybe not as much as the car you're trading ;)

Looking forward to the pics of your new EB

And welcome to the forum and also welcome to "Elite" status :salute:
Thank you! I have worked on forums in the past and I know what a financial burden they can be on the admins so anything I can do to help where I am getting help in return.

I just joined too. I just ordered a new 2013 explorer sport and am trading in my current baby, a BMW as well; 2009 335i convertible. It pains me greatly to do so as I LOVE my BMW but it just isn't suiting my family right now. I am really looking forward to my Explorer Sport though; it is a gorgeous SUV IMO with tons of bells and whistles that I am looking for.

I am going to miss my BMW. It was fun to drive, solid handling, everything you expect a BMW to be, but it just won't hold my family. My wife's Enclave went in to the shop for some work and there was no way we were going to be able to get us and the four kids in the BMW. Luckily we were able to borrow my dad's Tahoe, but I didn't want to rely on that in the future.

A good friend of mine just took delivery on his 2013, you are going to love it.

Updating with pics.

Looks real nice  What kind of miles does it have?

I'd get rid of those dealer plates/emblems! It's always a pet peeve of mine anyway, and literally the first thing to come off when I bring a new car home :sawzall:
65k and they are coming off when it is a tad bit warmer outside. They are not paying me to advertise so I'm not keeping them on there. ;-)

Lol, I've already told my dealer to not even think about putting anything on there!
