Has anyone bought or built a fishing rod rack for their factory rack? Is this possible? Any input would help out!
Thanks. I konw they have the ones that go on the front of the Ex, but I want one that is inexpensive and that holds a couple of rods on the Factory Rack securely.

Whats wrong with inside your truck? I wouldn't want my Penn Internationals exposed like that.

Just a thought....

I have cheepo rods, and just thinking, of something similar to a snowboard rack but a heck of alot smaller. Maybe 6 or 8 inches long. But the same concept as a snowboard rack that would clamp them into place securely.

well

I have an inside soft rack for mine... it clings onto the inside roof ....you just slide the rods through the loops and tighen to secure with velcro... it cost me $25...but the guy I bought it from makes them custom for SUVs... it even has a spot to hang extra reels and tackle...

I built on on the inside...msg

I took two spring clamps and taped them to a broom handle and clamped them to the inside back plastic strip along the sides of the truck. Then I put a piece of foam weatherstripping on the broom handle. This holds the rods from sliding around. On the front I took two small spring clamps, tapped them to a pair of yardsticks tapped together, then a piece of foam weatherstripping on that. Clamp them on the handles above the doors in the back seat. Very cool. I can send jpg if you want to make one...cost, about $10

check this site out, www.beachboxes.com my dad makes these as a hobby, and i built that site for him. he is about to make one for my explorer, ill put some pics up when i get them

Ive got polished steel stubes welded to a long plate bolted to the top of my front bumper. looks real nice. Gave me a place to mount my 1960's 6 inch diameter yellow fog lights too. I wonder why people make fun of me sometimes......
