Hi guys. My first post.
Recently my 2004 4x4 started swaying and trying to fishtail on clean dry pavement. At 50mph+ it's horrible. Normally I can figure these things out on my own but I'm at loss. Again, this is only when I let off the gas.

I read something indicating possible rear coil packs, but maybe sway bar links. I've already done the fronts.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

1st I would go around check all your shocks and spring

2nd go in back jack it up spin the tires a tad and try to wiggle your listening for a grind from the bearing and or any side to side play in it

3rd get on under there with a pry bar with it’s on the ground and start trying to find any play anywhere in your upper or lower control arms stick the pry bar near bushings or any metal gap and try to force it apart shouldnt budge

4th I would check the rear tie rod just grab it with your hand and try to rock it should be solid no play

It’s definitely in your rear id guess also if you have another vehicle I would advise parking this as happening at speeds as low as 50 means something has a lot of play and could very well fail any day now

It has new bearings all around. New CV axels in the rear. I found a loose rim a week ago. I'm going to rebuild the sway bar assembly this week with new everything. My front sway went crackers on me about a month ago, and I put new sway bar links in. I'm praying it's just sway bar links. Right now, the weather is my worst enemy.

Did you get an alignment?

I’m guessing it’s quite off.

Get a alignment and they'll tell you they can't do it if they find something loose then you'll know what you need to replace.

Oddly, in my area alignments are cheaper at the Ford FastLane than the major franchise auto shops.
