picked up a set of used (25-30%) 32/11.5/15 bfg muds today. They fit with just a TT/shackle life and no trimming. There is even enough room leftover so im sure brand new ones with fit with no issue. ill post pics when i get up in the morning. There goes the gas mileage even more now with 3.27's

I put 32s on my 95 XLT with just shackles and a TT. I did have to trim a little plastic in the back inside of the front fender.

Tim

I think it all depends on the backspacing of the wheels. I had to trim for 31's with a 15x10 rim +4" of back spacing.

Did you get them from a guy on desert rangers.

yeah i got them from him. They are stock 15x7 wheels so that helps. And ive taken off the lower rocker plastic so no need to trim that. I will get some pics up tommorow. And soon ill be able to buy the maxxis bighorn's ive been wanting and now at least i know i can fit 32's. Next step has to be finding a rear axle with 4:10's though. Did they come open or did they all have a LS??

edit: i just actually went out and measured the deth of the tread. It varies between 25 and 30%. So my visual guesses of tread depth were off. Ohh well they were free though lol. They will work fine until i get the money for the new tires since the TOYO at's i had on there went bald in the middle.

some 4.10's were open some have the l/s.

no he was in rancho cucamonga. And i ran them at 35-40 psi they were rated at up to 50. is it possible 40 psi is to much for a 10.5 inch tire on a 7 inch rim???

congrats on the Bears Tickets, im jealous. I love the bears and would LOVE to see them play in the super bowl. I cant say that my Grossman doesnt scare me though. Lovie needs to keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible. Good defense and special teams with Thomas jones and cedric benson running over that sorry colts defense and the bears will win the Super Bowl.

yeah i bet gas isnt too good with those 3.27s.. cant wait to see pics

Off road tires like to be run ALOT less PSI then a standard car tire. On a 7" rim those 10'5's should be run at 20-24 PSI tops for street driving and 12-14 PSI off road.

Wow that is weird then, and no i dont think so i see 7'' rims on trucks all the time with 31s. You know the person to ask would be james t he builds tires.

Yeah it is pretty wierd, everyone ive asked says that i should have been able to run them at that psi just fine because they were an all-terrain tire. But ive read alot of reviews on the Toyo open country at's where people had the same problem i did. So far i like the ride and sound of the bfg's, they are nice and loud though and i look forward to getting my bighorn's in a month or so. That combined with the aussie locker im putting in today after work and i should have a pretty bad 2wd machine (wish it was 4x4 though lol).

Here is one pic i snapped on my way to work today...

MMMM then why is larger offroad tires rated at 50psi and car tires rated at 32-35 PSI. I run mine at about 45 psi. Running any tire way lower than the manufacturer rating is never a good idea on the street. It causes premature tire wear, poor handling, and can cause accidents.

my 31x10.50 on 15x7 rims are wearing in the middle too. the place that put them on put them at 30 psi so thats just what i've been keeping them at. finally noticed that they are wearing too much in the middle so dropped it down to 27ish, guess I will drop them some more!

because larger offroad tires need to be made to work on heavier trucks, like 3/4 and 1ton trucks that still need to tow over 10,000 lbs.

the psi rating on the sidewall just tells you the max inflation of the tire for maximum load capacity- it is not the pressure that 'all' trucks should run them at.

30-35psi max for the GVW of an explorer
