Year, Model & Trim Level
'99 XLT
I have a '99 XLT explorer and im looking to fix it up. Due to money i am starting out with a 3 or 4 inch body lift and i am looking for 32 or 33's for the tires. Any suggestions for tire type and any other necessities i might need to make it more equipped.
Thanks

You can only get a 3 inch BL. I forgot the part number and the year for the steering extension..i am sure someone else will fill you in on that.

The tires depend on the type of driving you will do...MT for a lot of offroad or just looks. AT have good road manners and still pretty good offroad...it is really just about what you want to look like/ride like.

1st of.. welcome to the site.

2nd.. you can only get a 3" BL and it'll be around $150

you can also get a 1.5" susp. lift for $60 by doing a TT (search for Torsion Twist, just cranking your torsion bars up) and then adding warrior shackles (part # WAR-153 available from desert rat, 4 wheel parts, etc).

A 2" BL and 1.5" susp. lift is enough to clear 32's on a 15x8 rim with 3.75 BS. Throw in a 3" BL and some trimming and you can fit 33's.

Word of warning.. this site is addictive and you will be motivated to spend waaay to much money (I just bought new shocks tonight)

EDIT: 3" BL PA-883 (for a 98+ Ranger), 2" BL PA-792 (for a Gen 1 X)

sheesh...tell me about it. It is only downhill from here...pretty soon you stop eating to save cash for the X, then you sell your kids to buy rims...you get the idea.

Don't even mess with a 2" body lift.. :D Stick with a 3" cause you'll eventually want to go bigger anyways.
