I am hearing a ticking when engine is under load, sounds like a lifter or valve noise on 92 4X4 with auto tranny. Dealer says no it is in the tranny area and could be a cracked flex plate. $650 to pull the trans and no guarantee. Read about a bendix as a possible source of noise. However it is constant. Anyone had a cracked flex plate or any remedies short of a trans pull. Thanks.
