Flowmaster 40 series

i just watched some videos on youtube of ex's with 40 series mufflers and it pretty much convinced me to buy one now.

i want to know if any of you have had any problems with them?
such as raspy sounding or anything like that, they sounded great in the videos but i wanted to double check.

i have a 50 series suv kit right now, and i like it, but when i get this im gonna get a dual outlet and run it strait out the back.

Also if anybody has any advice about how I can do the exauhst myself, I don't want to pay a muffler shop to do it but j don't want to use the cheap Flex-a-pipe stuff from autozone either.

Look, I'm not asking for a sound bite. I know plenty of people have them and they sound great. I'm am asking if Anybody has had problems and what they did wrong to cause them, so I know what not to do.

I've got the 40 series on mine, and it does have a little raspy sound when you get on it. But at idle it has a fairly deep tone and nice rumble. I just wish it was louder.

Also just have a shop do the install. I had mine done for $40. The previous owner had already put on a dynomax muffler and they just swapped it out for the Flowmaster. If they had had to do all new pipes it would have been around $120

I got dual 40 series on my 01 sport just the only problem is my exhaust sometimes rattles when its on idle or at a red light. But otherwise then that its no problem my explorer sounds real loud and deep.

I love my dual 40 series flowmasters on my 01 sport.

I had 40 series on my old 95 OHV, it sounded mean and I enjoyed tramping on the accelerator to hear it!

Now I have flows on all my vehicles and love em!

haah seth i was thinkin the same thing lmao.. anyway i got a 40 series with no resonator.. i like it a lot..its only turndown, but i had to run a pipe out the side for emissions, and it sounded much better because of the exit pipe and the curve, so i'd like to finsih it instead of it dumping out under the cab.. so i suggest gettin an exit pipe on it basically.. but yeah when it statts up it roars a lil.. then its pretty quiet with a nice tone till i get on it. then with my intake it sounds good..not really loud necessarily but very happy with that mod..

i am gettin ridda the cat tho, and straight pipin to the 40, then straigth pipin outta that so its louder anddeeper.. i think it'll sound reall good then

I noticed from your sig that it says you have 80mm wires, i think you mean 8mm cause 80 is like 3 inches.
