flowmaster 50 series?

ok im looking into an exhaust for my 94 XLT......so far this site has been helping.....and im pretty set on just getting the muffler and having a shop do the rest of the work from the cat back...

anyway........heres the deal....i want my truck to have a nice low rumble at idle...something you can hear if your sitting at a traffic light......and when you punch it ...it has to roar.....i mean i dont want anything like a diesel truck sounds..like someone had mentioned earlier...

should I go with the 50 series or 40 series delta flow muffler....im reading that the delta flow reduces the noise inside the truck...compared with the original 40 series...

is there a huge difference with the noise from outside between the two....I do want to be able to tell I have an exhaust from inside though...

thanks for your help..

the new guy....

sounds like you need a 40 series.. 50 whispers at idle, but screams when you punch it.. 40 roars at idle and.. well.. screams louder.. when you punch it, friend of mine has a cherokee with dual 40s on it.. sounds nice.. too loud for my taste tho.

i know that the muffler will roar when you punch it but how bout when you just take off normally and just when your driving is it still just a low rumbly noise

Actually, I think that when you punch it, you hear the engine over the exhaust. Mine sounds really good when I'm between 2000 and 3000 RPM. And now that its getting warmer up here in NY, it sounds even better at start up. Once the pipes are heated up it sounds great!

would it make a big difference if i ordered the 2" muffler inlet instead of the 2.25" ......i have a 94 xlt, and i went and ordered the 2" one....i took a measurement and it seemed it was 2.0 inches....

someone let me know....so far i read that everyone "thinks" its 2.25...thanks..

2" is fine just have the shop expand the inlet/outlet to 2.25" they can do it.... also, depending on who you ordered it through they may let you change your order..maybe not....

I probably would have ordered the 2.25". That way, even if your pipe is 2" it will still work and not decrease the amount of flow into the muffler like a 2" inlet would do with a 2.25" pipe.

well that sux....i just emailed this place...promax.net ..and asked to change my order...im going to call them tomorrow b/c they probably wont read my email until sometime next year...

i hope they will let me change it...i mean it does say if im not happy with my order within 30 days return it.....so i mean they should have no prob changing the **** before i even get it..lol

thanks again..

They got adapters for that aint no big deal if you ordered the 2

Whats the big difference between the 50 series delta and the 50 series SUV???

dont know for sure but i think the suv is a littlw lower tone.

from what I hear, the delta is a little bit quieter than the standard suv one... thats really all I know, dont think it makes any performance differences

I was thinking about getting the Flowmaster Force II Cat-Back from summit. Anyone have any expierences with these?

a lot of peopleon here have that system and say it rocks.... go for it......

Two more stupid questions...Does my X have resonators??? If so, which I believe it does, does this system remove them??

as far as I know the only resonator is in the tail pipe. so I would assume that the flowmaster system would not have one.

yes, the resonator is behind the stock muffler on the tailpipe. a catback system such as the force II will remove the resonator and replace it with pipe and no resonator

OK...sounds good....Looks like this will be my next mod.
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna sound like a lawnmower, or even worse, a ricer.

na.... youll only sound like a ricer if you toss on a glasspack.....
