I like the loud sound but and am ready to order one! I am joust going to buy the exhaust not they whole system. I own a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer AWD 5.0L V8. I have done plenty of research and can't find which one I need. I think I want the 40 series, my friend has one like that but on his f150 05. Just need to know which one I need with the correct pipe sizes, pipe inlets and outlets and other clamps and stuff. Ebay links will be appreciated!!

Thanks
Justin

Slide under the vehicle, count the number of inlets/outlets, measure inlet/outlet pipe diameter, measure muffler length, and muffler width of your stock muffler, and look at the Flowmaster site to see which one you need.

not trying to be a ass/smart-ass, but you might not have gotten a answer yet because it is not that hard to get under the truck and see what inlet/outlet setup you have. as well as grabbing a tape measure and eyeball the pipes O.D. (most likely it is going to be 2.25"-2.50" O.D.

as far as the clamps, that depends on what inlet/outlet you have to determine how many you need, again that involves crawling under the truck and taking a quick peak. or you can find a friend w/a welder and have him burn the muffler in place.

sorry im not much of a help other than that ( ^^ ).. I own a 4.0 SOHC and im not sure how exactly the 5.0L is set up.

edit.... damn it, IZ beat me to it as i was replying w/this slow ass ISP.

Thanks guys.

no prob. sorry i couldnt be more help.

Flowmaster makes several series of mufflers, some are louder and less restrictive than others. On their site there are demo audio/video samples of vehicles with different series installed so you can get an idea of the sound level. I'm not sure how many options there are for your Ex. - check it out..
