Flushing my tranny out to synthetics...

For my 02 the bottom tranny line is the line that feeds the cooler and returns to the top tranny line. So the top line is your disconnect. So out from cooler and fill through top tranny hardline.

hey trucku, hows your shifting?

So far 2 things has happened. I used to get a wierd whinning sound when shifting out of park to drive for the first time after truck has been sitting over night, now its gone. The shifts seem smoother. The truck seems to be working less during hard acceleration and tranny shifts quickly and smoothly. I used to get a lag. All this slowly revealed itself after a few days.

hey trucku can you post some pics of the mounting locations of your remote filters, i cant find any where for some to mount.

Ok will do.

It will be after this weekend sometime. Will be upstate for the start of small game season this weekend.

But for a mental visual.
I have my dual remote mounted just before the front right wheel. Its right behind the bumper and forward of the wheel well. I have it mounted vertical. Its right under my wiper fluid bottle.

As for my tranny filter I ran it along the right side of the tranny/radiator to the front of the truck. It is mounted horizontally on the cross beam that is right behind the grill. I have to remove the grill to service filter. Thats not too hard. its just 4 or 5 plastic screws..I cant remember. Its not bad, because the filter gets a nice flow of air when driving. I also have lots of room to mount a longer filter if wanted too.

Will post Real pics of them next week, so you can see what I used and where I drilled for the mounts.

After my tranny flush she was shifting nice for a week or two then got slugish.
I ended up changed my perma cool remote filter and put in a Pure One filter in and added a some fluid too. Feeling I may have shorted my tranny a bit during my fluid flush, I added 2 quarts extra of fluid in addition to whats needed to fill the new filter. NOW its a beauty..shifts so smoothly and softly. It brings tears to my eyes as an american tranny runs so nice....lol. What I thought was good shifting was no campare to now. On the highway sometimes I have to pay attention for the downshifts and upshifts in different conditions. Before I had to push the pedal down to get the truck to shift down and accelerate when at highway speed. Now she purrs along and does it without much effort.
