2011 Ford Explorer Limite
I have a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited. I just discovered that the driver's side fog light lens is badly cracked. I would like to replace it myself, but from what I can tell, you either have to remove the bumper or the fender well to get access to it. Has anyone had to replace one and if so, how do you do it? I hate to think that I have to have Ford do it and pay an arm & a leg for it!?!?!? Please advise.

2011 Explorer fog light.
I've replaced one recently and it wasn't hard at all - no bumper or fender well, etc., removal. Here's how I went about it....

Jack up under and behind the bumper end to be worked on to gain some head room to work.
Look up at the horizontal plastic water/dust shield just behind the fog light and remove three black 8mm hex-head screws. Push the plastic shield out of the way so you can see the rear of the fog light housing.
On the wiring harness-to-bulb connector, push on the release tab and disconnect the plug from the back of the light. Move the harness/plug out of the way.
The fog light unit is connected to the bumper cover with four silver 7mm hex-head screws. Remove the screws and remove the entire fog light unit toward the rear of the car.
Install your replacement fog light in the reverse manner.
You might search eBay under '2011 Ford Explorer Fog Lights' for some good deals on replacements. The OEM bulbs are 'H11' and usually come with the replacement unit.
Hope the project goes well for you
