Fog Light Wiring?

Does anyone have pics of their wiring harness going through the firewall?

I belive the wire the hole they are refering to to wire through is your hood pop.. start at the hood release and trace it back, that's where i've run all my wires through
- 8 ga. amp wire, strobe wires, Driving Light wires, reverse lights, about 10-15 total, had to remove the gromet.

Pinched wires can and do cause fires all the time. It all depends on the wire size and how much current (amps) is flowing through it.. Just like a garden hose being pinched creates a choke point the same things happens in electrical wiring. The pinch point in an electrical can easily overheat, burn through the insulation, short out and cause a fire..

All that being said you should only run low power from the switch to a relay near the battery that supplies high power to the lights.

I for one do not have any pics on how to get wires through the Firewall, sorry.

What I like to do is drill or punch (Green Lee Punches) a hole through the firewall where there is open space and won't do damage to anything else.
Size the hole accordingly and use a grommet to protect the wire.

ok i will look behind the hood pop. If not i will just drill a hole i guess.
Is just drilling a hole an easyer approach? There is no problem that can occur if i drill a hole in the firewall as long as i dont hit anything vital, right?

As long as you don't hit something, that is what is important. but no drilling is not always easy.
Look for a grommet or other wires already going through the firewall from the engine side.
See how much extra room there is existing holes and attempt to push through a piece of stiff solid wire (like a piece of bailing wire) about the same size as the wire you will be using.
Ig the bailing wire goes through you can use it as a snake and fish the wire with it.
There is always a way through but on an Ex I don't know for absolute, look around sometimes it take a little while to determine a good spot.

Drill as a last resort.

ok i went looking around for a good spot to either fish it through with a pre-existing harness that goes into the cabin. Everything is in such a tight spot it i think there is no way to fit the wire harness that i have for my fogs to go through. So i went looking for a place to drill.
So here is how I have my wire harness now.

The only grommet that might fit the harness(from inside the cabin)the only problem is i have no idea where it goes to on the engine side.

And finally the spot that might have to be drilled for the lights(looking from engine side). The white spot on the firewall that is in the shape of a circle. It is a couple inches below the brake boost.

I really need pics of other peoples wires going through their firewall or how they followed a stock harness that goes into the cabin.
