Hello Everyone!

I just have this issue for a long time, i just wasn't able to post about it.

Now I come to you for some guidance. I have the fog light switch on my dashboard, but sadly, without the connector in the cables. Now that I have the cables, the thing is that I don't know which pin is for what. Does it have to have 3 cables, four, or two? the white? the red? only the blue? It drives me nuts! I've tried some configurations already.

Can someone help me out here to point out the correct order and cables that should be at each pin in the switch? I've been working, trying to turn the fog lights on, without any success.

I'll share some pictures I took today while working on it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Find wiring diagram

Unfortunately the forum code resamples images, can make it difficult to read them.

The fog lamp switch has 4 wires, and as you see from the back of its connector, four electrical contacts. Might have 6, on the original connector, with pins #1 and 2 not used. The remaining pins 3 thru 6 are shown in the attached picture and their functions are:

#3 - Lt. Blue/black wire - the switch itself, which grounds the relay coil to turn the fog lights on.

#4 - Black wire - ground for #3, and for the LED that comes on when the fog lights are turned on, and ground for the interior marker lighting illumination when that is turned on regardless of whether the fog lights themselves are on.

#5 - Red/Black wire - power to the interior illumination light in the switch, always on when interior marker lights (dash, etc.) are on

#6 - Tan/Orange wire - power to the LED in the switch that turns on when the fog lights are on.

Here is a picture of the "probable" pinout, it's from a Ford Ranger but is what I'd try first. Wiring diagram PDF is also attached. Rather than try to solder or use little individual spade connectors on each wire, I'd just hunt down the right connector from a junkyard donor vehicle if you can find one nearby, keeping in mind that multiple different Ford models with fog lights may have the same connector, or you might get lucky and find one on ebay.

I can only assume that these also apply to a 2000 model year vehicle in Maracaibo.

The white red and blue wires are not stock

It Looks like he is trying to tie his aftermarket lights into the factory switch??

More info is needed to help
We could assume the red is power and the white is ground while the blue is the relay trigger for some aftermarket lights… but that maybe not correct. The white could be switched and the blue could be illumination for the switch? I mean who knows?

There looks to be
one red
Two blue
Two white wires

These trucks are pre wired for factory fog lights. All you normally have to do is add the switch, add the relay and fuse for the fog lights, and then plug in the power and ground for your new lights up under the bumper to the factory wiring

Using the factory wiring
The fog lights will only work with parking lamps and with low beams, they will shut off with the high beams.
