I just installed an Autometer tranny temp guage, and yesterday it started fogging on the inside. You can still read the guage but I have to believe it isn't normal. I thought it might go away but it happened again this morning.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'd say take the bulb out so the back is open and stick the gauge under a hot lamp for a while to get all the moisture out. Then reinstall it, making sure everything is sealed. If it happens again, exchange it.

Just trying to give him an alternative in case exchanging it is a PITA.

I'll give Autometer a call tomorrow and see what they say. I don't know how moisture would get inside in the first place.

I would just take it back to where I got it.

Good luck....

I ordered it from Summit so I don't really want to ship it back to them if Autometer will just send me a new one.

Summit has great customer service, I bet they will send you a replacement.
