This is from somone on my Local 4x4 Forum......

I just heard back from Oxtrax regarding the status of a cable locker for the Ford 8.8. They said that currently they are seriously considering the production of this unit based on the popularity and strength of the Ford 8.8 axle but can't give a time frame of when/if it will happen. I sure hope it does happen and before springtime.

If anyone on this board is interested in a Ford 8.8 cable locker please send Dale Hoebel an email expressing your interest, dale@drivetraindirect.com

This locker would be a really good solution for the FRONT and rear. Maybe we can get something together like the ARB list. But maybe their initial requirement to build will be much less than the ARB folks. 75 is alot when we only have like 12 interested!

The Ox would definitely be sweet. I'm sending an email.

Don't waste your breath. I sent them an email like two years ago and they told me the same thing.

I've also e-mailed in the past. They claim that the 8.8 unit will be produced, but I don't know how far away that is. As far as getting one for the front, it'll probably never happen; at least not soon. I would love to have dual lockers on my rig, but I need them to be manually engaged to keep the street manners. I'm about to give up on a selectable front locker for my '93. I'm not interested in the ARB's, too expensive and lots of stories about them giving owners headaches. They told me that in the very near future they will produce the Ox for the Dana 44. They didn't say whether they meant front or rear, but do you know if a locker for a Dana 44 liveaxle will work on a D44 TTB?

No because the cover is part of the cable locking mechanism and the ttb's have a removable 3rd member not just a cover. It would have to be re-designed to work for a d44 ttb.

Well poop. I guess I'll just settle for a limited slip front. Unless you could modify it to use a standard dana 44 cover on the front of the beam, then run the cable through that.... I dunno.
