2005 ford explorer xlt V8
I have this 2005 ford explorer xlt v8. I just bought it. It has the check advtrac message and the sliddingcar symbol plus the abs symbol on the dash. Also the truck shakes when going like at 50mph and i apply brake. Can anybody tell me more about it? Can theshaking be related to the 4x4? I think it is the abs sensor on the wheel bearin.

Any of you with the same problem?

Welcome. The shaking when braking sounds like the front brake rotors need to be resurfaced or replaced. The sliding car icon is the traction control, look in your owners manual if there is a button to turn it on & off. On my wife's Escape there is a button to turn the traction control on/off. As far as the abs the system will need to be scanned for codes.

what about the check advtrack message?

Yes I have all those symptoms. Plus i have this fused wire that runs from the engine all the way to the back where i found it coiled upnot attached to anything and i have no idea? It has to be for taking power to something, but what?
