Okay a friend of mine has a Ford Van of some sort like a 99, and I think maybe they are similar to the Explorer or someone here would know. Every time she turns on the car, she gets check front headlight right, change oil, and check this and that, but everything is fine. There's three buttons, Reset, Info, and Setup I think. But none of them seem to help get rid of this, and I couldn't figure out what to do.

Does she have to use a scanner on it to clear these codes or something, is there codes set maybe as a maintenance check?

If it's a Windstar, it's very important the the proper lightbulbs are used, as the module is constantly checking the resistance of all the bulbs (other than the third brake lamp and license plate) to make sure they are not burnt out. I have seen some cheap bulbs cause the warning indicator to come on, also make sure the high beam works.
Next, press the setup button untill it says "press reset for system check"... and then it should eventually say "press reset if new oil"... press the reset button once, and then you'll have to press it a second time to turn the warning off.
And if it's not a Windstar, I've just wasted a tonne of time babbling.

yeah it probably is a windstar..hehe thanks for the info! Reset twice then..that's the trick, I just held it in like on the Jeeps I service.
