2017 Explorer Sport
Hello everybody,

First time Ford buyer here. Just picked up a 2017 Explorer Sport, and so far I'm really liking it. It's white platinum, has the 401a options package (kind of a must-have, isn't it?), and the twin-panel moonroof. No real plans for it for now, other than getting clear bra installed on the front and also the rear bumper sill. Might install a catch can kit too, based on what I've been reading. Any thoughts on that from other members?

I drove a well-optioned non-ecoboost one (perhaps a limited? I don't remember), and it just felt like something was missing :). Plus the sport + 401a package pretty much covers everything on my wishlist, except adaptive cruise control, which was by no means a deal breaker.

I'm on the fence about whether or not I wish I would've gotten the rear bucket option or not. I have 3 kids, so there's always at least one in the 3rd row, and it would make it easier to get back there with the car seats we have, but at the same time I like the fact that I could cram them all in the 2nd row if we had a lot of cargo.

Only 2 complaints. The dead pedal is in the stupidest spot in the world. It's hard to find a spot for my left foot to be comfortable. It's my wife's daily, so again, not a deal breaker. The 2nd complaint is that the interior a-pillar trim on the passenger side is loose. Shouldn't be a big deal, I just need to make an appointment at the dealer to hopefully get that taken care of.

Looking forward to enjoying/contributing to the forum.

Thanks all!

Getting clear bra installed hopefully this weekend, and ordering the Ford "tray style" floor mats. So far we've been driving it relatively easily until we hit 1000 miles per the manual. I almost can't wait to hit that mark so I can open it up at a stop light a few times.
