Ford Quality Control

In light of recent events, this is probably a subject that does not need to be discussed on open public forum. And if you really want to find out, I wish you luck. I will not discuss this further.

Sorry but I didn't think it was that much of an issue since body armor and vehicle armor has been discussed on open forums around the world. In fact, on Fords very own website, they include the specifications and type of ballistic door panels they use in their PI's.

You can get the specs on mine resistant military vehicles like MRAP's the feds give to police online - with the legal specification buy the feds military equipment they give them can only be used for terrorism or drug raids. Not other police work, though that is not the case. This is not classified stuff.

Funny, in a country where you can download the 1,000 page Flight Ops Manual for the F/A 18 Hornet in PDF form. Drama much?

I'll say both my front doors on my PI are misaligned and "sag" to the rear, I wrote it off as having the ballistic inserts adding 45lbs to each door being the culprit, but I need to go look again. I'll post some photos here in a sec

Thats odd because significant engineering went into the design of the upgraded hinge on the Interceptor Sedan and Utility front doors for the added ballistic panel weight. If I remember correctly there were upgrades from the original production hinge so maybe you should look into whether or not you qualify for the newer hinge.

Try to find me the TSB on it and shoot me a PM, I've gone round and round with the dealership over this.

Lol, then you should not post post about your law enforcement vehicle in a public forum. I have a little experience (just 27 years) and common sense, this is not the area to post about your broken law enforcement vehicle.

Im going to email the engineers that worked on the ballistic door project and find out more about the hinge....stay tuned.

Here are the photos of the "sag" I was referring to, notice the doors droop towards the rear, and the gap increasing towards the bottom of the doors
