feel lucky..it was $500 for my Astroflex 2way remote start/alarm installed with 2 remotes..this was the best price of anywhere in town..but im sooo happy with it!
yeah, but astros are the best out there. they dont use a crank timer llike the cheaper ones, you get a lot more range, and a lifetime warrany. is yours the 5204 with the pager remote? or did you get the 3106?

any decent remote start will have a tach imput feature

"is yours the 5204 with the pager remote?"

that's it..let's me know if anyone's messin with it..prefect for a HS student

I don't know how to quote......

Re: sticking a key in the steering column. I don't think I'd do it that way. It will have to be a programmed key. You can buy a blank one and I say somewhere online once how to reprogram it. However, once you put one permanently in the steering column, you will have to disable your ignition key (take the chip out of it). Two programmed keys interfere with each other.

I also thought of this when I was installing my remote starter, but decided against it. In addition to not being the proper way to do it, there is not really room under the steering column cover to place the key. PATS bypass module is well worth the money. Just my $0.02

Also, for info on wire colors, I found this site very helpful:

For how to program a blank key: here

Hope this helps and good luck!
