The 2025 Explorer does not use Sync 4. The 2025 models use Ford's Digital Experience written in partnership with Google. It needs some work.
Ford says they're working on an update but it won't be available until.the first quarter of 2025.
That's nice but I am not now receiving the features I paid for. Probably can expect some compensation. N O T !

1. When the car starts, when it acquires the SiriusXM signal, it will overide the radio off condition and turn the radio on, even if was previously off when the car was last used.
2. The charging pad is convenient but the charging indicator on the far right side of the screen works inconsistently. The phone will be charging regardless of the indicator.
3. From time to time, the screen in front of the driver will revert to the menu and not the previous selection.

Good to see that Ford is still consistant with the quality of their user interface.:banghead:

Seriously though, I hope they get it fixed.

Hi Rick, the Lincoln Embrace (Welcome Lighting) doesn't work on the 2025 Aviators, but it worked on my 2020 and 2023 Aviators. Supposedly, an update will be available in the first quarter of 2025 to address that. So much for quality control.

I feel like we are all Beta testers. Not just new vehicle owners but every driver on the road that has to hope the latest technology in other people's cars and trucks doesn't wind up killing us. :(

Welcome to my world! I spend a huge amount of time fighting interface and SYNC issues, some of the updates take hours to do I've had vehicles hooked up to my laptop for 10 hours doing updates!!

The software problems are not limited to Ford. The GM pickups have been having a lot of issues also. Then they do an update and other things stop working. I don't know how the mechanics make any money having a vehicle in their bay for hours and hours doing an update.
