Foreign Objects In Tranny?

hey Guys!

Someone in the chat room mentioned finding some foreign metal pieces in their A4LD. I remember awhile back, reading about Ford putting something (or leaving something) in the A4LDs when being built. Like a cap or something? And when people were rebuilding them, they were getting all confused about what these objects were.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? I swear I read about it here somewhere, but I can't find it now.

I do believe you're thinking of the plug that people have found in the pan of the transmissions in the 5.0 explorers.

Yeah, the plug wasn't metal either, it was plastic....

yeah its plastic and looks like a little plunger. If theres something metal in there, thats not good... unless its a big magnetic donut, thats normal.
