What are the symptoms of the FPR going bad other than the bad gas mileage. Mine has gone from 320 mile per tank to about 275. I has rough start ups and it has also been skipping and back firing a little bit, only around 55mph though. Could all this be the FPR? I have new plugs and thermostat so it souldn't be that. I have a '93 with about 125K miles.

Can anyone help?

In winter most places use different gas, so that will account for lower gas mileage this time of year.

Have you checked your air filter? A dirty one can sometimes cause rough starts, etc.

What plugs did you put in?

Also, faulty spark plug wires can cause hesitation at speed. Did you change them when you changed the plugs?

I am from Alabama so I don't know if they put stuff in the gas here, I heard it was only in the really cold states, but I don't know. My mpg was turning bad this summer to so I guess that rules that out. I didn't change the wires when I put in the Bousch+4. The air filter is new though. I could change the wires but it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and change the FPR, would it? I don't want to waste my money.

Does bigger tires have anything to do with a FPR going bad? Does bigger tires some how put added pressure on it? I have had 31x11.5 for a year and a half. When I first got the tires on I was getting 320 per tank but it has dropped litle by little to 275-285. Any suggestions?
