Ive got a 97 sport with the 4auto/4hi/4lo t-case and i installed a switch and relay to give me 2wd. Cost me less than 10 bucks for the wire connectors switch and relay.

after you tighten the throttle cable... if it feels like you have to push down the accelerator too much before you kick into overdrive, then shorten the kick down cable, if not i'd just leave it.
